Senegal,Kobongoye - Electrification of a village’s collective buildings
- Selected project
- In progress
- Realized
Jokkoo Ak Saloum is an association created in 2007 in Boulogne-Sur-Mer of exchange and cooperation. The village of Kobongoye 1 is landlocked and the high cost for routing the electrification leaves it out of the electrification programs of Senelec. The project of the association consists in electrifying the common spaces of the rural village landlocked in Kobongoye, more precisely the school center (school, kindergarten, teaching house), the health sector (maternity, women’s house) and the welcoming house.
Our participation
- € 10,000 in financial sponsorship 2014

Testimonial
Since 1996, links between the association and a responsible village community committed to sustainable development have been firmly tied.
Here, I would like to express our gratitude to Mrs. Hélène Demaegdt for her Foundation’s exemplary partnership. She had faith in this partnership from the moment the proposal was submitted in September 2013.
We heard Arona Fall, the village leader, tell us:
‘Before you came, Kobongoye 1 was in darkness, now it is in the light!’
