NGO Testimonials
Un enfant par la main – Kanté Ramata NIARA, Sougoubili’s midwife
The mission
Construction and electrification of a maternity hospital in the village of Sougoubili in Mali
Testimony
“The electrification of the maternity ward has been of paramount importance. I was as relieved as the villagers. The outside and inside of the maternity ward are lit and thanks to this, I work easily during the night. There is also the solar fridge that works day and night. I also go home in the light as my house is close to here.
First of all, it is a feeling of pride that motivates me to have the privilege of working in good conditions. I am very happy with this electrification and I thank the foundation very much.”
Jokkoo Ak Saloum – Francine Wallaert, President of the NGO
The mission
In 2014, Sylla Machines’ teams, accompanied by Zine Taouil, an engineer at Tenergie commissioned by Synergie Solaire, electrified the community areas of the remote rural village of Kobongoye: school centres, health areas (maternity ward and women’s home) and the reception centre.
Testimony
“The links between the association and a responsible village community committed to sustainable development have been firmly established since 1996. I would like to express our gratitude to Mrs Hélène Demaegt, for the exemplary partnership of her Foundation. Since the application was submitted in September 2013, Synergie Solaire has trusted this partnership, and has been able to contribute financially, and above all give Zine Taouil, an engineer from one of the member companies of Synergie Solaire, the means to be present and to support Sylla Machines’ Senegalese team.”
Entrepreneurs du Monde – Thomas Thivillon, Head of the energy division
The mission
Since August 2016, ATE Co. has been developing a Micro social franchise renting lighting sets for families in the slums of Manila.
Testimony
“By combining renewable energy’s expertise with innovative financing methods, the Synergie Solaire endowment fund has created a unique tool, ideally designed to accelerate the development of energy access projects and increase their impact on the poorest populations. Its entrepreneurial vision of development is perfectly in line with the values defended by Entrepreneurs du Monde. It contributes to the local rooting and to the sustainability of the initiatives supported. The involvement of the Synergie Solaire’s teams from the launch phase was crucial to enable the social enterprise ATEco, led by Entrepreneurs du Monde in the Philippines, to successfully launch an offer of “pay-as-you-go” solar lighting sets in the slums of Manila.”
